Description
Automatic floating air bleed valve for heating and cooling systems. The floating air bleed valve is supplied with an automatic shut-off valve in the version with a spring-loaded cone.
The air bleed valve must be fitted upright at the high points of the system. Fit the shut-off valve to the system first. The system must be flushed clean and pressurised before the air bleed valve is fitted. The shut-off valve is designed with a spring-loaded cone and provided with a sealing ring to the pipe system and a flat gasket for sealing to the air bleed valve. During installation or removal of the air bleed valve, a certain amount of leakage may occur before the flat gasket or valve cone seals. The black air vent must be open approx. 2 turns from the closed position. If the air vent is screwed all the way down to the bottom, the air bleed valve is disabled. Air screw available as a spare part, see list of parts.
The air bleed valve must be inspected regularly. The air vent must be opened two turns for venting to take place. The automatic air bleed valve facilitates bleeding when starting up. The air vent must be closed after approx. 1 month from commissioning of the heating system.
If the float valve does not close because of contamination, fluid will rise up through the air outlet. Growing deposits around the air outlet indicate that this fault is present. The air bleed valve needs to be replaced. Undo the air bleed valve above the shut-off valve. See the previous note re. leaks.
